Summary
The primary purpose of this position is the supervision of hourly personnel and activities in the Lamination production plant. The Lamination production supervisor is responsible for supervising shop employees in a manufacturing environment. This position plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions. This is a working supervisor role which does require floor presence and participating in manufacturing duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Coaches and mentors team members
- Responsible for department metrics and performance
- Identifies, encourages and provides learning / training opportunities
- Continuous improvement in support of department and company goals
- Supervise team leads on 1st and 2nd Shift
- Responsible for annual performance appraisals, disciplinary and termination actions
- Coordinates, evaluates and provides input regarding the need for new and / or additional equipment
- Develops, reviews and maintains staffing requirements
- Coordinates the support from external departments as needed
- Establishes boundaries
- Supports and encourages team-building
- Provides feedback, both positive and negative to others
- Establishes and promotes a positive work environment
