As our Electrical Estimator, youll take the lead on complex electrical estimates that demand accuracy and foresight. Youll provide detailed estimates and proposals, manage scope changes, host bid reviews, analyze drawings / specs, coordinate long lead materials, and deliver thorough proposals. This role is about ownership, precision, and being the expert who positions us to expand into new markets. This role also has potential to grow into a Lead estimator role with a team of junior estimators under your guidance.
What Youll Do
- Provide highly detailed estimates & proposals for our clients.
- Effectively communicate with Projects division and PMs to ensure a highly professional proposal that meets the project and client needs.
- Efficiently manage & control MOC requirements.
- Manage pre-award clarification logs.
- Ensure accurate 3rd party quotes for rentals, materials, and all other required project deliverables.
- Procure Long lead materials and coordinate with suppliers for electrical and instrumentation projects.
- Generate project budgets, assist with estimating of major change orders.
- Review specifications and drawings to determine full scope, material requirements, and costs.
- Examine and analyze estimate packages for accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare bid packages, conceptual estimates, and analyze subcontractor bids.
- Develop and implement cost recovery strategies.
- Maintain detailed files of working documents and ensure up-to-date supplier pricing, price lists, unit rates, and quantity estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and clients to align on scope, budget, and execution.
- Host internal bid reviews and ensure a smooth transfer of all relevant project information to project managers.
- Implement AccuBid or another estimating software for detailed electrical estimating and ERP for proposal tracking and reporting.
What You Bring
Minimum 5 years of estimating experience in electrical projectsMust have a currentTechnology Diploma, or Journeyman certificate, or NCCER certification (or equivalent), or NETA certifiedStrong understanding of Electrical & instrumentation drawings, P&IDs, strong experience estimating E&I construction, experience estimating commissioning & startup.Strong proficiency with AccuBid (major asset) and familiarity with ERP systems (Acumatica preferred).Ability to read and interpret blueprints, isometrics, and design drawings.Proven success building budgets, managing MOCs, and handling change orders.Sharp attention to detail with a process-driven mindset.Collaborative approach with PMs, superintendents, and clients.Why Youll Love It Here
