In this role, you will integrate and deploy highly scalable software platforms to meet Western Union's strategic initiatives. You will constantly pursue and learn innovative solutions, build awareness of open-source technologies and communities that enable high-volume low-latency systems.

Role Responsibilities

• Define Strategic Vision & Roadmap : Lead the longterm vision and technology strategy for pricing platform engineering, aligning it with business goals and influencing roadmap priorities.
• Drive CrossFunctional Collaboration : Partner closely with Data engineering, Product, and Operations teams to co-shape product strategy, pricing models, and technical solutions.
• Deliver Technical & Business Outcomes : Make effective product and trade-off decisions that positively impact key metrics such as pricing accuracy, latency, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
• Architect Scalable, HighPerformance Systems : Guide development of low-latency, high-throughput pricing systems that support real-time decision-making at scale.
• Translate Strategy into Execution : Turn strategic plans into quarterly OKRs and execution plans, balancing fast delivery with technical debt management.
• Operational Excellence & Support : Establish processes to manage adhoc support requests without disrupting primary delivery cadence, fostering responsiveness and consistency.
• Foster Engineering Excellence Culture : Cultivate a high-performance culture grounded in coding standards, architectural rigor, and collaborative norms, while influencing team values and norms.
• Lead and Mentor Across Regions : Attract, develop, and mentor regional / global engineering talent, promoting scalability and leadership throughout the organization.
• Champion Quality, Performance & Developer Experience : Uphold the customer journey, product quality, system performance, and developer experience. Advocate for automation, observability, and platform abstractions that enhance engineering efficiency.

Salary

The base salary range is $180,000 - $220,000 USD per year, total on target compensation includes a base salary plus long-term and short-term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary based on candidate's qualifications, skills and competencies.
