Operations Administrator
At Houston Methodist, the Operations Administrator (OA) position is responsible for providing operational oversight and leadership throughout the organization. This position is responsible for leadership in unforeseen situations, making timely decisions that directly impact patient care, fostering interdepartmental / interprofessional collaboration which reflect the mission and values of Houston Methodist. The OA position ensures timely and effective communication and provides clinical guidance in the management of patient care, staffing, and interpreting and implementing established policies and procedures. This position creates an environment for the management and delivery of safe patient care. The OA position demonstrates critical thinking through self-direction, initiative, effective interpersonal skills and oral / written communications skills.
The Operations Administrator ensures personalized care and service by consistently demonstrating our I CARE values : integrity, compassion, accountability, respect, and excellence. Responsibilities include assigning available personnel, role modeling interprofessional communication, conducting fair and consistent leadership, improving department score, coordinating patient flow, overseeing hospital operations, managing administrative issues, partnering with public relations, troubleshooting problems, monitoring emergency codes, participating in process improvements, attending care coordination rounds, implementing department strategies, serving as a mentor, seeking developmental opportunities, and ensuring career discussions.
Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited school of nursing, a Master's degree preferred, five years hospital experience in nursing, RN licensure, BLS certification, NVCRISIS certification, and Magnet ANCC-recognized Certification. Knowledge, skills, and abilities include proficiency in English, effective communication, conflict resolution, professionalism, adaptability, problem solving, and flexibility.
Supplemental requirements include no uniform, scrubs and business professional attire, no on-call requirement, and no travel within or outside the Houston Metropolitan area.
