We are looking for a skilled Revenue Accountant to join our team in Bloomington, Minnesota, on a contract basis. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring accurate revenue recognition and compliance with accounting standards, while working closely with cross-functional teams to support financial reporting and analysis. Responsibilities :

Prepare detailed monthly revenue analyses for long-term development contracts, adhering to established revenue recognition policies and accounting standards.

Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to gather updates on customer programs, ensuring accurate revenue recognition and alignment with financial plans.

Support inventory and work-in-process accounting by consolidating data from various sources in a manual reporting environment.

Enhance deferred revenue processes and reporting by identifying opportunities for improvement.

Review customer contracts to extract and interpret performance obligations, presenting relevant information to auditors and internal teams.

Manage manual reporting tasks, including pulling Tableau reports, handling complex Excel workbooks, and downloading system queries.

Ensure accurate accounting treatment for contract assets and liabilities, applying a thorough understanding of relevant principles.

Requirements :

Proficiency in revenue accounting, including experience with ASC 606 standards.

Strong analytical skills to evaluate revenues and ensure compliance with contracts.

Familiarity with manual reporting environments and tools such as Tableau and Excel.

Ability to interpret and apply performance obligations within customer contracts.

Experience in deferred revenue processes and improvements.

Knowledge of inventory and work-in-process accounting.

Excellent communication skills for collaboration across departments and presenting findings to auditors.
