Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a resource float position requiring critical care and large teaching hospital background.

Responsibilities Resource float RN position in hospital intensive care units

Floats between ICU and IMCU units, including SICU, MICU, and various specialized floors

Cares for critically ill patients including cardiovascular, COPD, DKA, stroke, and sepsis cases

Requires handling post-cardiac surgery, vascular, trauma level 1, general surgery, and neurosurgery patients

12-hour night shifts with required weekend and holiday coverage

No block scheduling permitted

Works with Epic EMR system and Epic experience within the last 2 years is required

Must work at least 2 out of the 4 major holidays : Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, and New Year's Day

No block schedules permitted and floating between units is required as needed

Team provides care to a wide range of high-acuity patients in a critical care environment

Bi-weekly orientations take place on Mondays

Reliable personal or rental vehicle recommended due to lack of public transportation; snow tires advised November through April

Requirements Active VT or compact RN license required; candidates must apply for VT licensure within 24 hours if not already held

AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required prior to start

CCRN preferred

Minimum of 2 years recent ICU experience required

Prior travel assignment experience is mandatory

Experience in a large, teaching hospital is required

Experience in trauma level 1 environments and with post-cardiac surgery, vascular, general surgery, and neurosurgery cases required

Recent (within 2 years) experience with Epic EMR is nonnegotiable
