Overview :
Sterling Engineering is looking for a Product Support Specialist – Interconnect & Interface in Germantown, WI. This role is responsible for providing high-quality technical support to employees, distributors, and customers while ensuring seamless application of interconnect and interface products. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a background in technical or customer support.
Duties & Responsibilities :
Provide telephone and email support to distributors, customers, and employees, offering technical instruction on interconnect and interface products.
Maintain accurate records of customer interactions using support systems and tools.
Develop and update product support materials (e.g., application notes, how-to guides) to illustrate product functionality.
Contribute to product demos (e.g., tradeshow panels, demo programs) as needed to support sales efforts.
Stay current on product knowledge, industry trends, and competitor offerings by coordinating with internal teams.
Support training efforts for employees, distributors, and customers.
Occasional travel (10%) may be required; must have a valid driver’s license and ability to travel by car or plane.
Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
Experience & Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
Proven experience in customer support or technical support roles.
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Preferred : Familiarity with electricity and electrical controls in industrial environments, including device connectivity.
