Coordinator For Leadership Development
The Coordinator for Leadership Development serves as a resource for student leaders, supports organizational development, and creates and manages a portfolio of leadership development resources for students. The Coordinator for Leadership Development will advise a diverse portfolio of Recognized Student Organizations (RSOs), facilitate student leadership development workshops, and collaborate to produce and disseminate communications for the UChicago Leads initiative. As a member of the Center for Leadership and Involvement (CLI), the Coordinator for Leadership Development supports the mission and vision of the unit, by working with students and staff to actively encourage involvement in student organizations, various programs, and overall student life at the University of Chicago.
Responsibilities include advising and supporting a diverse portfolio of student organizations, working with the Assistant Director to develop programs for fostering leadership development among students and student groups, creating and overseeing the implementation of comprehensive educational workshops and program curricula grounded in student leadership development, delivering and administering high quality, innovative workshops and programs to a wide number of constituencies, collaborating with key campus partners to develop tailored leadership programming for various offices and departments, overseeing the nomination and selection process for the annual University Student Leader Awards, collaborating with staff to create a robust communication and web presence strategy for CLI initiatives, and serving as a member of the Center for Leadership and Involvement staff and assisting with various office programs and projects.
Minimum qualifications include a college or university degree in a related field and 2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline. Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree in a liberal arts field, a master's degree in higher education, student affairs, or student personnel, demonstrated success in working with diverse and complex student organizations, two years of experience in working with students and advising student organizations in a student affairs or student life environment, event planning experience, experience in organization budget management, experience in the preparation and presentation of workshops, excellent interpersonal skills and conflict resolution techniques, the ability to work independently and carry out assignments and projects without detailed instructions, and a minimum of one year of experience managing projects or programs.
