Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department and Med Surg position requiring a compact or SD RN license, with recent ER and Med Surg experience.
Responsibilities
Work in a Critical Access Hospital (CAH) setting with combined ER and Med Surg unitsCare for both emergency and acute Med Surg patient populations25-bed unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 3-4 : 1 on Med Surg, depending on census and acuityFloat between ER and Med Surg as neededDay / night rotating 12-hour shifts totaling 36 hours per weekRequired to work every other weekend and holidayOne on-call shift required every 13 weeksUses EPIC for charting and computer training providedMedication systems include Sanford One Charge and PyxisDeliver nursing care for ER and Med Surg patients, including assessment, medication administration, and emergency interventionsAttend one day of ER training and one day of Med Surg training during orientationComply with facility dress code : navy scrubs with no logos, white items permitted underneath or as lab coatAll staff must badge in and out each shiftHoliday coverage is required based on rotating scheduleLocal candidates within an 80-mile radius are accepted, with a local pay adjustmentIf previously employed at Sanford Health, must not have worked there within 6 months prior to considerationRequirements
Active SD or compact RN license requiredMinimum 2 years RN experienceAt least 6 months of ER and 6 months of Med Surg experience within the past yearCurrent certifications in BLS and ACLS (AHA) required before startNRP certification required (may be completed onsite with approval)TNCC preferredAbility to function independently in both the ER and Med Surg settingsBenefits
