Product Operations Data Analyst
San Francisco, CA (Hybrid – 3 days / week)
Compensation : $165K–$220K + 0.1–0.2% equity

Our client is a fast-growing creative tools startup helping designers and teams turn ideas into visuals instantly. The company has moved beyond product-market fit and is scaling quickly across both B2C and B2B workflows. They combine creative energy with technical precision, empowering users through intuitive, design-led technology.
They're now hiring their first Product Operations Data Analyst to build the foundation for how data is used to guide product, sales, and customer decisions across the business.
The Opportunity
This is a high-impact role for a hands-on data professional who can define the company's data culture from day one. You'll work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to build dashboards, establish metrics, and surface insights that directly inform growth and product strategy.
You'll partner with Product, Sales, and Engineering to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights that drive user engagement, retention, and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain self-serve dashboards and reporting tools for non-technical teams
- Establish consistent metrics for product performance and service health
- Design automated data pipelines and scorecards for real-time visibility
- Analyze product and user data to identify friction, adoption trends, and engagement patterns
- Partner with Sales and Customer Success to surface renewal and usage insights
- Conduct deep-dive analyses and present clear recommendations to leadership
- Prototype quickly with tools like ChatGPT, Jupyter, and Retool before finalizing with Engineering
- Collaborate with Engineering on predictive models and experimentation
Requirements
5+ years in analytics, BI, or data science, ideally within PLG, SaaS, or creative tools companiesStrong SQL and proficiency in Python or R for analysis and automationExperience with BI tools such as Looker, Mode, Tableau, or SundialProven ability to translate data into clear business insightsFamiliarity with support metrics (SLAs, FCR, deflection) and service-health KPIsStrong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionallyDetail-oriented mindset with a bias toward action and automationComfortable in a fast-paced, early-stage environmentWhy This Role
