We are seeking skilled Shipyard Mechanics and Maintenance Technicians to support shipbuilding, repair, and maintenance operations. The ideal candidates will have hands-on mechanical experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in a shipyard or industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on shipyard machinery, mechanical systems, and industrial equipment.
- Inspect, service, and replace components on pumps, valves, motors, compressors, cranes, and other shipyard tools / equipment.
- Conduct preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure safe operation of machinery.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment to complete tasks accurately.
- Follow safety protocols, OSHA standards, and shipyard policies at all times.
- Assist with mechanical installation, alignment, and testing during shipbuilding and repair projects.
- Document maintenance activities and report any hazards, issues, or needed repairs.
Qualifications
Previous experience as a mechanic, maintenance technician, or similar role (shipyard / industrial preferred).Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical troubleshooting.Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.Physically able to lift 50+ lbs, bend, climb, and work in confined spaces as required.Willingness to work overtime, shifts, or weekends as shipyard schedules demand.Preferred but Not Required
Shipyard, Navy, or industrial maintenance background.OSHA-10 / OSHA-30 certification.Forklift, crane, or heavy equipment operating experience.Welding, pipefitting, or fabrication knowledge.
