Overview
The Systems Administrator is responsible for the administration and support of various software and hardware systems, as well as preparing, configuring and troubleshooting. This role maintains specifications and security policies relating to SVB's technology infrastructure, oversees outsourced hardware and software operations, manages servers and telecommunications, and assists in disaster recovery functions. The Systems Administrator ensures compliance with SVB policies and procedures and with applicable state and federal banking regulations. The role may require working before or after bank hours on special projects or to provide emergency support when needed. Location : Sterling, IL.
Responsibilities
- Maintenance, configuration and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers and virtualization.
- Provide first-contact support, including receiving calls and email requests, logging incidents and tasks, addressing issues that can be quickly resolved, and escalating others as appropriate.
- Serve as key contact with bank's software vendors.
- Identify, report and repair security vulnerabilities using patches and proper configurations.
- Interface with outside vendors in the event of a system failure, reporting downtimes, required repairs and cost estimates to supervisors.
- Assist other departments with product integration and support.
- Provide technical support on projects, working closely with project managers.
- Create and manage Windows Containers, OU's, network accounts, login scripts and group policies.
- Prepare documentation for federal / state examiners and outside auditors during regular examinations.
- Participate in the Business Continuity Team and IT Steering Committee; involvement in other bank committees as assigned.
- Participate and, when possible, volunteer with non-profit organizations to support the communities the bank serves.
- Administer asset management / inventory for information systems including network, hardware, software and equipment.
- Evaluate vendor hardware, software, and telecommunications equipment; make recommendations aligned with the bank's objectives.
- Evaluate user requests for new or modified hardware or software for feasibility, cost, time, and compatibility with the current system.
- Coordinate system and equipment needs and installation with branch facilities.
- Assist with policy and security compliance and risk management as required.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree (BA) from a college or university, five years of related experience and / or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience; experience in the financial industry preferred.Experience with Microsoft Office 365.Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, SharePoint Online and virtualization.Advanced computer skills in networking and desktop installation / configuration support.Proficient math skills.Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interpret documents, write reports and communicate to customers and employees.Ability to solve complex problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.Effective organizational and time management skills.Ability to work with minimal supervision.Current driver's license and vehicle if required to drive in the course of performing duties.Incumbent must perform duties safely and without endangering themselves or others. Salary Range : $50,000 - $80,000 annually, depending on experience.
