Logistics Analyst
The Logistics Analyst is responsible for analyzing and coordinating integrated logistic support activities to provide effective support for both commercial and government requirements. This role involves gathering, interpreting, and analyzing data to identify opportunities for improvement in areas such as transportation, inventory management, reporting, and distribution. The Logistics Analyst will work closely with various stakeholders, including logistics management teams, suppliers, and customers, to optimize service levels, minimize costs, and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities :
- Data Analysis : Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to various aspects of logistics, including transportation costs, inventory control, and delivery performance.
- Process Improvement : Identify and recommend improvements to existing logistics processes, such as distribution or inventory management, to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Systems Maintenance : Maintain ERP system and associated customer and government inventory management systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Reporting and Analysis : Prepare reports on logistics performance measures and provide ongoing analyses in areas like warehousing, transportation costs, or delivery processes.
- Collaboration : Confer with logistics management teams to determine ways to optimize service levels and maintain supply-chain efficiency.
- Problem-Solving : Address routine and unexpected disruptions in the supply chain to keep products moving.
- Policy and Procedure Development : Develop, evaluate, and revise logistics policies, procedures, and plans.
- Inventory Management : Manage and maintain accurate inventories of customer and company assets, including performing inventory control activities such as : cycle counting and reconciliation, root cause analysis of inventory discrepancies, inventory reporting and tracking, and coordination with warehouse staff to ensure accurate inventory levels.
- Government Property Management : Utilize government property management systems to manage and track government property. Ensure compliance with applicable Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplements (DFARS), as well as other regulatory requirements related to government property management.
- Inventory Reporting and Control : Prepare and maintain inventory reports, including daily / weekly / monthly inventory reports, inventory turnover reports, obsolete / slow-moving inventory reports, inventory valuation reports, and coordinate with accounting to ensure accurate inventory valuation and reporting.
- Customer Support : Support customer program requirements, ensuring that logistical support is being met, and manage the receipt and control of customer and government material sent in for repair, modifications, or incorporation into end items.
- Audit Support : Provide support for internal and external audits, including preparing and maintaining documentation for audit purposes, assisting auditors with access to relevant systems and data, coordinating with logistics teams to address audit findings and implement corrective actions, and ensuring compliance with audit recommendations and regulatory requirements.
- Compliance : Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including maintaining accurate records and reports.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills :
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential for identifying trends, analyzing data, and making data-driven decisions.Experience with data analysis software, such as Microsoft Excel, SQL, or statistical software, is often required.A solid understanding of logistics principles, supply chain management, and transportation practices is necessary.Experience with government property management systems such as Sunflower or DPAS / ELMS.Effective communication skills are needed for interacting with various stakeholders, including logistics management teams and suppliers.Documented experience with relevant logistics software and ERP systems (e.g., Costpoint, SAP, Oracle).Strong time management skills are necessary to prioritize and execute multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.Ability to provide guidance to team members and critical POC's as needed.Ability to obtain a security clearance is required.Experience working within ERP systems, such as Costpoint, SAP, Oracle.Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) or Integrated Logistics Management (ILM) experience is preferred.Experience with inventory management and control, including inventory reporting and analysis.Direct experience working within Government Property and Contractor Inventory Control Point (C-ICP) Management Systems to support government and customer property requirements.Experience providing support for internal and external audits, including preparation of documentation and coordination with auditors.Education :
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.Pay Information : Full-Time Salary Range : $54069 - $91917 Please note : This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to : business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
