Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field, active Deaf & Hard of Hearing (DHH) certification, and 1+ years Deaf & Hard of Hearing Specialist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A position is available for a Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teacher to instruct high school students in a self-contained classroom designed for individuals with hearing impairments and additional learning needs. This contract role spans the current school year in Sycamore, IL.
Responsibilities include developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique munication and learning requirements. The teacher will deliver direct instruction in core academic subjects, utilizing accessible formats, differentiated instructional strategies, and visual supports. Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and other munication methods is essential to facilitate full access to instruction and promote effective classroom interaction.
