This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Registered Nurse specializing in preoperative and perioperative patient care. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized care plans for patients. - Continuously assess patients' physical and psychosocial conditions throughout their care journey.\n
- Develop and document tailored care plans that involve the patient, their families, and the healthcare team.\n
- Implement and coordinate these care plans in collaboration with our dedicated healthcare professionals.\n
- Evaluate the effectiveness of care plans and make necessary adjustments based on patient responses and readiness for discharge.\n
- Plan and document educational needs assessments for patients and families; provide comprehensive preoperative and postoperative teaching.\n
- Serve as a preceptor to new staff members, fostering a supportive learning environment.\n
- Organize unit schedules as Charge Nurse when required.\n
- Meet performance expectations regarding customer service, teamwork, and professional development.\n
- Perform pre-and post-operative assessments and manage immediate and post-discharge needs of patients following surgical procedures.\n
- Demonstrate adeptness in recognizing and addressing key concerns including pain management, dysrhythmias, and inadequate airway issues.\n
- Stay compliant with nursing standards and protocols in the ambulatory surgical setting.\n
- Be prepared to cross-train in other RN roles within the department.\n
- Show proficiency in moderate sedation practices.\n
- Participate in marketing and promotional activities representing our surgical services.\n\nQualifications : \n
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.\n
- Two years of experience in a critical care environment is preferred; experience in ambulatory surgery and PACU settings is highly regarded.\n
- Must hold a valid Connecticut Registered Nurse License.\n
