We are looking for a skilled and driven Attorney to join a prestigious law firm specializing in complex civil litigation. This position, based in New York, New York, offers a rewarding opportunity to work on employment law cases, including wage-and-hour class actions and claims involving discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. The ideal candidate will play a key role in leading litigation efforts while collaborating with a dedicated team of legal professionals.
Responsibilities :
- Prepare and draft pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda for intricate employment litigation cases.
- Manage all aspects of written discovery, including interrogatories, document requests, and requests for admission.
- Conduct and defend depositions for plaintiffs, defendants, witnesses, and expert witnesses.
- Represent clients in court by attending hearings, conferences, and delivering oral arguments.
- Lead settlement discussions and mediations, including drafting mediation statements.
- Collaborate effectively with other attorneys within the Employment Practice Group.
- Oversee case management from initiation to resolution with a hands-on approach.
- Provide strategic advice and guidance on federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Ensure thorough legal research and analysis to support case preparation and strategy.
- Minimum of 4 years of litigation experience with a focus on employment law.
- Proven expertise in handling wage-and-hour claims.
- Significant experience conducting and defending depositions.
- Strong proficiency in legal research and writing.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver compelling oral arguments and manage complex cases.
- Admission to the New York State Bar in good standing.
- Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
