- Outreach and Admissions Manager Summary of Position Function :
As the OA / CTS manager at Iroquois Job Corps, you are pivotal in steering the direction of our outreach, admissions, and career transition services. Your expertise ensures that we deliver exceptional services while maintaining impeccable quality standards. Your leadership will be integral in developing strategic plans, enhancing departmental processes, and fostering continuous growth and improvement.
Major Duties and Responsibilities :
Outreach and Admissions :Supervises Outreach and Admissions programs and operations.
Ensures Admission goals are monitored and met.Actively participate in the folder review process for student / employee applicantsAssist in the process of student accommodations to ensure a plan is implemented prior to arrival at the center.Assist in coordinating the Community Relations activities and related committeesStudent RetentionWorks closely with the Counseling Department, Career Preparation and Student Human Resources staff on retention strategies.
Develop retention strategies to assist the Center’s Admissions Counselors (AC) to ensure that the students are retained and graduate from the program.Career Transition ServicesSupervises Career Transition Services programs and operations
To ensure that Career Transition Services goals are monitored and metDevelop and implement a Career Transition Readiness curriculumWork closely with CTS staff to find internal ways to improve Graduate Placement outcomesFoster strategic employer relationships, expanding job opportunities for studentsStaff Oversight and DevelopmentEnsure staff have adequate training to complete key areas of responsibilities.
Provide documented training to staff.Provide Cross-training for department employees.Coordinate staff meetingsProvide timely staff evaluationsOtherMonitors budget and related areas for department and maintains spending limits.
Assists in the coordination and communication between departments in the coordination of procedures necessary for efficiency of operations.Acts as a trusted advisor to the Center Director and is a member of the senior leadership team.Performs all other duties assignedSkills / Competencies
Sound working knowledge of counseling techniquesDemonstrated skills in identifying and evaluating the emotional needs of young adultsAbility to quickly learn Job Corps methodologiesStrong interpersonal skillsMeticulous documentation / recording skills and attention to detail; excellent time management skillsDemonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others in a wide variety of circumstances related to student servicesExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalStrong analytical skills in interpreting data related to student programmingComputer literate with emphasis on Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, business, communications, or closely related field, and two years related supervisory experience.Associate’s degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, business, communications, or closely related field, and four years related supervisory experienceWhat is Job Corps?
