Position Summary
The Social Media and Communications Coordinator is responsible for supporting the mission, vision, and values of Ascent Classical Academy Charter Schools, Inc. by implementing communication strategies that promote student recruitment, community engagement, and brand awareness. The role focuses on managing weekly newsletters, maintaining and growing the school's social media presence, and documenting school events through photography and media. The ideal candidate is creative, organized, and able to collaborate closely with faculty, staff, and external partners to strengthen the school's public image and enhance internal and external communications.
Essential Functions
- Implement comprehensive communication strategies to support Ascent Classical Academy's goals and initiatives, with a primary focus on the weekly school newsletter.
- Collaborate with administration to develop and maintain key messaging, ensuring consistent branding across all platforms and materials.
- Capture and document school activities and events through photography, videography, and other media formats for use in publications and online platforms.
- Manage the school's social media presence, including creating, posting, and monitoring content, in partnership with the Headmaster and Director of Development.
- Assist in planning and promoting school events, open houses, and other community engagement activities.
- Maintain a positive and professional online presence that reflects the mission, vision, and values of Ascent Classical Academy.
- Monitor and assess communication efforts to recommend improvements and enhance audience engagement.
Position Requirements
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field (preferred).Previous experience in marketing, communications, or a related field.Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.Proficiency in graphic design software, social media platforms, and content management systems.Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.Creative problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to assignments.Commitment to the mission and vision of Ascent Classical Academy.Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends to support events and promotions.Demonstrate consistent and reliable attendance by adhering to assigned work hours, reporting on time, and following proper procedures for absences or tardiness to ensure minimal disruption to students, colleagues, and school operations.Other duties as assignedPhysical Requirements :
