Position Summary

Responsible for processing, coordinating, and tracking, all medical record requests related to audits, reviews, and compliance activities.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities Includes the Following :

• Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies, and Behaviors.
• Understands and adheres to HIPAA, State, and Federal regulations.
• Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of the MPI, EMR, and all HIM software applications
• Maintain confidentiality and always protect patient privacy.
• Serve as the primary contact for external and internal audit requests, including RAC, MAC, commercial payer, government, and compliance audits.
• Receive, log, and track all audit-related requests in the audit management system or tracking spreadsheet.
• Coordinate with internal departments to gather required medical documentation and supporting records.
• Review medical record requests for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies before submission.
• Monitor audit deadlines and submit requested records to auditors within required timelines
• Assist with medical record requests from patients, providers, attorneys, and other authorized entities in accordance with privacy regulations.
• Participate in compliance education and training as required.
• HIM Department Kronos Timekeeper.
• Support in the patient record amendment process.
• Performs all other related duties as assigned.
