Position Title : Pulse Power Engineer
Location : Alabama
Clearance : Ability to Obtain a Secret clearance required.
Responsibilities :
- Conduct research, analysis, down-selection, fabrication, testing, and integration of complex electronic and RF subsystems and components for Electronic Warfare and Directed Energy Weapon systems.
- Design and develop high-power RF or pulsed power systems to tackle the challenges posed by advanced threats.
- Perform scientific analysis and testing in laboratory and field environments to demonstrate unique or niche capabilities for the DoD.
- Provide expertise in pulsed power electronics and mentor junior staff members.
- Collaborate with a diverse, multi-disciplined team to achieve project objectives.
- Work on exciting challenges in the DoD, delivering tools to support the next generation of defense.
Requirements :
10+ years of experience in pulsed power research, development, and test and evaluation of various pulsed power systems.Extensive knowledge and experience with high voltage, high peak power spark gaps, high voltage power supplies, and fast transient diagnostics.5+ years of experience in laboratory or field-testing environments, including setting test goals, developing test methodologies, organizing and conducting tests, reducing test data, analyzing results, and compiling detailed technical reports.Experience in conducting both basic and applied research, as well as modeling and simulation programs related to pulsed power systems.Familiarity with electromagnetic interference (EMI) and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).Ability to work in high voltage environments and the flexibility to travel CONUS to support testing and demonstrations.Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science related degree : Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Physics.Preferred (not required) :
Experience in Directed Energy Weapon system development, design, and integration for the Armed Services.Experience conducting testing for weapon effectiveness and RDT&E activities for Directed Energy (DE) systems, Electronic Warfare, or Pulse Power Systems.Master's degree in Engineering or Science related degree.J-18808-Ljbffr
