We are looking for a skilled Accounts Payable Supervisor / Manager to join our team in Plymouth, Michigan. In this contract to permanent role, you will lead a dedicated accounts payable team, oversee key financial operations, and ensure compliance with organizational standards. Responsibilities :

Manage and oversee the accounts payable function, ensuring accurate processing of invoices, payments, and reconciliations.

Supervise a team of two, providing coaching and fostering growth to maintain high performance.

Ensure timely execution of check runs and Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions.

Collaborate with various departments to resolve payment-related issues and discrepancies.

Implement strategies to optimize workflows and enhance operational efficiency in a paper-heavy environment.

Monitor and analyze accounts payable metrics to align with organizational objectives.

Maintain compliance with company policies and financial regulations, enforcing necessary controls.

Support efforts to transition to automated systems for improved accuracy and efficiency.

Develop and deliver training programs to enhance team understanding of accounts payable processes.

Establish and enforce safeguards to prevent errors and fraud within financial operations.

Requirements :

At least 5 years of experience in accounts payable management.

Proven ability to lead and manage teams, with 3-5 years of supervisory experience.

Proficiency in handling check runs and Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions.

Strong understanding of invoice coding and payment workflows.

Adept at operating effectively in a paper-heavy environment and driving process improvements.

Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.

Familiarity with financial controls and compliance standards.

Strong communication skills to effectively lead and collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
