Overview
Lead Water Resources Design Engineer role at WSP in the U.S. in Gainesville, Florida. The position focuses on technical problems in water resources design, with opportunities to work on projects involving natural systems restoration, stormwater treatment, dredging, and related services.
Your Impact
- Lead and mentor a team of early and mid-career engineers and scientists
- Collaborate with teammates to deliver quality products to clients on schedule
- Conduct field and office tasks associated with water-resources projects
- Use CAD Modeling, GIS and other relevant software technology
- Prepare calculations, design and make recommendations for water-resources projects
- Author construction bid documents, technical documents, permit applications, and proposals
- Manage and lead projects in a team environment
- Market clients and prepare proposals
- Commit to the safety program
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in environmental, agricultural, or civil engineering7-10 years of post-baccalaureate experience in engineering and designExperience in a consulting practiceRegistered Professional Engineer in Florida; or registered Professional Engineer in another state with the ability to obtain Florida registration within three months of employmentTrained project managerSkilled communicator (oral and written) of technical informationTravel, as necessary; primarily within FloridaThe position will be in the Gainesville, FL officeProficiency in using the MS Office suiteStrong oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate with clients, prepare reports and proposalsSafe driving record in accordance with the Company\'s driving policyDrug screening required for this positionPreferred Qualifications
Graduate degree or degrees in engineeringKnowledge of Florida hydrology and Florida water-resources issuesClient relationships and project experience in FloridaRelationships with Florida's water management districtsExperience with water models such as ICPR, HEC, MODFLOWAbout WSP
