The Fabrication Shop Manager will lead and develop the people and processes associated
within the Fab Shop. Develop and ensure the achievement of shop’s goals related to quality,
cost, delivery, safety, and morale. Build and refine processes to ensure overall shop system
excellence.
$65,000 - $80,000 annually
Duties / Responsibilities :
- Develop and lead Shop personnel through active coaching
- Develop training programs for cross-training of manufacturing personnel
- Actively engages with employees on the production floor on a regular basis
- Facilitate communication and develop a shared vision within the team
- Establish and maintain a positive and supportive work environment
- Proactively develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with and between all
departments
Proposes & assists in capacity planning, and training methods for production staff.Familiar and comfortable, with a quality management systemEstablish production targets and metricsDevelop tools, processes, and communication channels to ensure on time deliveryParticipate in new product development teams to support the delivery of new products onschedule
Develop and ensure production follows appropriate workflow and methodsEstablish and implement lean manufacturing initiatives that achieve improved businessresults
Take a process view towards problem solving and improvementsAssist with the planning and directing of equipment and production cell layoutEffectively manage costs and identify opportunities for increased efficienciesSupervisory Responsibilities :
Participates in the hiring and training of Shop personnel.Organizes and oversees the work and schedules of Shop team members.Completes performance evaluations in a timely and constructive manner.Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance withcompany policy.
Required Skills / Abilities :
Superior verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.Superior managerial and diplomacy skills.Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.Education and Experience :
Extensive and diversified background with at least 10 years of related experience.Prior leadership experience (5 years?)Excellent organizational and leadership abilitiesOutstanding communication and people skillsKnowledge of industry’s legal rules and guidelinesPhysical Requirements :
