Director Of Strategy
Serves as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and is responsible for shaping, advancing, and executing the enterprise strategic vision to ensure long-term growth and market leadership. Responsible for driving innovation, joint ventures, partnerships, investments, and thematic analyses across the service lines and other assigned strategic priorities. The Director of Strategy will evaluate market trends and the competitive landscape to identify new business opportunities and lead key initiatives that enhance overall organizational performance, competitive positioning, and innovation. The ideal candidate is an analytical and creative thinker who can translate complex data and concepts into actionable plans, influencing stakeholders at all levels. This role will work closely with service line Senior Vice Presidents and Vice Presidents specifically.
Minimum Qualifications
Education : Bachelor's degree is required. Masters of Business Administration or Masters of Health Administration preferred.

Experience / Knowledge / Skills :
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in related field; experience at a top-tier management consulting firm preferred
- Strategic thinker with ability to identify new investment, partnership, and innovation opportunities that are aligned with key strategic priorities / goals and have potential to be value accretive for the system
- Demonstrated track record of establishing effective cross-functional partnerships and relationships at all levels in a highly collaborative environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to structure and deliver presentations clearly, crisply, and compellingly while championing recommendations and influencing decisions with key stakeholders
- Results-oriented and highly accountable individual who thrives in fast-paced, demanding working environments, always maintaining a high degree of professionalism and data integrity
- Proficient in multi-tasking, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and independently
- Continual improvement - always looking for ways to improve both individually and organizationally
- Advanced proficiency in analytical and statistical tools to analyze and interpret data including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software
Principal Responsibilities
Collaborates with senior leadership across service lines, care delivery sites, and system services to translate ideas into strategic investment themes and initiatives with clear value creation potentialSupport business case development and diligence tied to acquisitions, divestitures, partnerships, and joint ventures, interfacing with Finance, Accounting, Legal, Tax, HR, IT, Digital and other departments to ensure seamless deal execution and value-creation captureSupport diligence on strategic equity investment opportunities in partnership with subject matter experts across the organization and other third parties (e.g., private equity, venture capital, other strategics)Support the annual strategic planning process via a collaborative effort between Care Delivery Executives, Senior Service Line Executives, System Services leadership, and physician leadersSupport ongoing operations for Memorial Hermann's Innovation Hubthe working group responsible for identifying and deploying innovative concepts across the organizationand shepherd specific Innovation Hub projects from identification to deploymentBring perspectives and experience toward the evaluation and implementation of thematic opportunities or initiatives, rapidly analyzing potential assets to assess fit, independently driving end-to-end investment and innovation efforts, and managing a sub-portfolio of investments / partnerships / innovation initiatives from origination to implementation / executionServe as problem-solving partner with key stakeholders and senior executives on critical strategic questionsSupport development of Strategic Investment Committee presentations and materialsTrack and report to senior executives on competitive intelligence on local, regional, and national competitors, including both traditional competition from other integrated healthcare systems but also other emerging competitors from non-traditional players (private equity funded competitors, retail players, payers, etc.)Track and report to senior executives on emerging industry and market trends, including disruptive technologies, business models, and partnershipsLead special projects and other similar requests from senior executivesEnsures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory / continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.Demonstrates commitment to caring for every member of our community by creating compassionate and personalized experiences.
