Accounts Receivable Specialist

This position is responsible for accounts receivable functions for the Department of Transportation / Public Works. Duties include maintaining accounting records and ensuring compliance with accounting revenue management policies and processes. Performing the complete accounting process (receivables and payables), including financial record keeping and County reporting systems distinguishes this job class from OA72-Accounting Services Specialist.

The typical starting salary range will be between $20.00 - $24.00 per hour, depending on the candidate's qualifications as well as budgetary considerations. Examples of Duties

Essential Function Examples

• Maintain accounts receivable including preparing and processing billings and maintaining related accounts
• Maintain excel spreadsheets and track past due balances
• Process online credit refunds and updating related accounts in all systems
• Ensure expenditures plus encumbrances are within appropriation limits and routine payments are in compliance with contract provisions.
• Maintain trial balances and reconcile accounts, prepare financial statements and assist in preparation of financial statements.
