The Social Media Coordinator is responsible for the high-quality content (primarily videos and photos) for the DeKalb County Animal Services social media pages. This role is responsible for creating, posting, responding and joining relevant conversations on behalf of LifeLine on various social media and online channels. Working closely with the marketing team, this position will promote the needs of the shelter through strong branded social media content creation to help save lives and drive adoptions, donations and awareness. , . This position is very hands-on with animals, including medium to large dogs. t This position also contributes to overall marketing efforts including brainstorming, video production, public relations, and campaign development.

Create engaging video and photo content for DeKalb County Animal Services Facebook and Instagram and other social channels.Help post, promote and oversee content on LifeLine Facebook groups to compassionately inform and engage our supporters (fosters, adopters, volunteers) and build community .Brainstorm and assist with content creation for LifeLine’s TikTok, YouTube, and other social media platforms.Coordinate with shelter departments to develop content that supports adoptions, donations, volunteer activities and other shelter needs. Work with the marketing team to support and promote LifeLine events, programs and initiatives. Use knowledge of shelter operations to drive content needs and help save lives .Take responsibility and courageously address customer feedback and concerns via Google reviews and social media.Promote positive conversations and escalate any concerns.Photograph, video, write and post bios for shelter animals’ online adoption listings.Coach and leverage volunteer content teams on the content they provide for social media and online adoption profiles.Respect, embrace, and celebrate diversity by always operating with a judgement-free mindset and welcome visitors with a friendly and professional demeanor.Help build a community of animal welfare advocates by supporting and engaging the volunteers who aid LifeLine.Continue education by participating in LifeLine’s 40-hour annual training requirement.Exhibit exceptional stewardship by maintaining a clean and tidy work area.Other shelter and marketing duties as assigned.Qualifications :
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Ability to serve the public and fellow employees with honesty and integrity.Expert knowledge of photography, videography and social media content creation.DSLR photography and video editing skills.Critical attention to detail and accuracy.Expertise in major social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.Professional experience using social media for business success a plus.Excellent and professional written communication skills.Flexibility to react to changes in shelter priorities.Must love animals and be able to handle large dogs comfortably.Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus.Must have a means of travel that ensures prompt arrival for work shifts.Must pass a background check.Education and / or Experience :
Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent. Animal handling experience and customer service experience preferred.
Work Environment :
While performing the duties of this job, employee may be exposed to unpleasant kennel smells. May have to handle dogs and cats that are stray, injured, or diseased.
