JOB SUMMARY / PURPOSE : The Manager, Asset Management is responsible for negotiating, managing and ensuring consistent application of all Power Generation long-term service agreements (LTSA) that cover the long term maintenance of the company's combustion turbine fleet including generators. This position will join the Smart Operations New Build team and will be responsible for providing short and long-term strategic guidance and direction over multiple new generation assets. The manager will provide oversite and direction to Process Owners responsible for developing technical, maintenance, engineering, and work management / planning strategies to ensure resource optimization. This position will be part of a Smart Operations Center in Power Generation located in the Woodlands Texas. The center will include among other areas, remote operations, plant monitoring, commercial asset management and new fleet optimization for various existing and future resources. This position will support all board approved projects as well as those in development for future consideration.
JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Responsible for the administration of all existing and future long term service agreements (LTSA) between Entergy and OEMs or other service providers.
- Ensure consistent interpretation and application of LTSA contracts across the entire Power Generation fleet.
- Manage the relationship with OEMs and third party service providers that Entergy enters into LTSAs with.
- Inspire a one-fleet approach to LTSA value creation and administration.
- Provide training to Power Generation plant staff and centralized service organizations on the contents of the LTSAs.
- Responsible for ensuring new generation assets are prepared for commercial operations and capable of meeting system load requirements.
- Works with system planning organization to optimize resource planning portfolio.
- Leads the preparation of preliminary plant budgets. Implements processes to ensure maximum asset optimization. Evaluates and champions gap closure actions that are consistent with the company's overall business strategy.
- Contributes to the development and implementation of a resource business plan that drives resource optimization for customers.
- Develop business case documentation for large financial investments for presentation to senior executives and regulatory bodies.
- Provide direct leadership to Process Owners and employees on rotational assignments that are tasked with developing core processes for a growing generation fleet.
Minimum education required of the position : Bachelor's degree in engineering, finance, accounting, business management, a technical field or equivalent industry work experience.
Minimum experience required of the position : Minimum of 6+ years relevant experience, with prior supervisory / management experience (preferably in either commercial asset management, operations, or energy dispatch).
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position :
A Commercial mindset and understanding of operating and optimizing a generation resource in a competitive market.Knowledge and technical understanding of power plant operations and maintenance with an understanding of the key drivers for safe, reliable, cost effective and compliant operation.Experienced project or commercial manager with excellent leadership skills.Preference for the following :
Experience in the negotiation and administration of long term service agreements with OEM and third party service providers for combustion turbines and associated generators.Regulatory knowledge (e.g., OSHA, NERC, FERC, Environmental, other) associated with operation of a power plant.Financial and commercial management skills with the ability to develop and manage a budget.Business Acumen / Industry knowledge (regulated / non-regulated environment), including broad business knowledge with understanding of how utilities make money in a regulated market.Experience operating in an ISO, RTO or similar type market structure (preferably MISO or SPP).Ability to manage multiple priorities through effective prioritization of competing issues, recognizing relevant constraints and opportunities.Effective communication to interact with personnel at all levels of organization.People management skills, including the ability to effectively coach others and hold employees accountable.Openness and willingness to explore alternative approaches and a willingness to drive change as needed.Any certificates, licenses, etc., required for the position : None
