Overview
Senior Analyst, Underwriting Strategy & Analytics – New York – Hybrid. The Underwriting Strategy & Analytics team leads underwriting portfolio analytics, business mix and performance assessment, and shapes underwriting strategy for SiriusPoint's global (re)insurance business. The Senior Analyst will support quantitative and qualitative portfolio analytics, assess risk-adjusted returns on capital, and develop underwriting strategy recommendations.
The Senior Analyst will own and execute analytics that drive underwriting and portfolio strategy, including updating the Underwriting Capital Model, data-driven analyses of portfolio mix, diversification and volatility, and pro-forma analyses of portfolio changes. The role requires building visualizations and presentations to communicate insights to senior leaders.
Beyond portfolio assessment, the candidate will analyze industry trends and partner with Actuarial on underwriting profitability to identify growth opportunities and refine market positioning. The team focuses on strategic portfolio management and presenting outputs to senior leadership.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, enhance, and run the UW Capital Model.
- Analyze return on capital for SiriusPoint underwriting businesses.
- Guide leadership and make recommendations to allocate capital to improve portfolio returns and optimize business mix.
- Lead analytical and data projects to drive underwriting performance.
- Support the UW Strategy and Analytics Lead in developing materials for ELT and Board presentations.
- Automate analytics to support underwriting strategy, including data pipelines, visualization, and analytics.
- Execute bespoke / ad-hoc analytics projects to drive underwriting strategy in CUO Office.
- Support portfolio management and shaping to drive business performance.
Qualifications
BS or BA in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics or quantitative fields. MBA or MS preferred; actuarial credentials (FCAS, ACAS) are a plus but not essential.Data analytics skills including SQL, data visualization; Python a plus.Strong financial modelling expertise with P&C industry experience.P&C and / or A&H product knowledge required.Strong communicator with presentation development, data storytelling, and cross-departmental collaboration.Curious learner with deep domain knowledge in P&C re / insurance markets.Compensation & Benefits
Salary : The estimated range is $150,000 to $165,000 per year. Final salary will reflect relevant experience, location, and other factors.
