Overview
EMSL is currently seeking a Full Time Laboratory Analyst (Chemistry) in Long Island City, NY. No laboratory experience is required, just a desire to learn technical skills and become proficient in common laboratory practices and procedures. On-the-job training will be provided for all new employees.
Responsibilities
- Preparation and digestion of environmental chemistry samples
- Preparation and analysis of samples using ICP and Flame AA
- Laboratory work environment requires care when handling acids, solvents, and other reagents
- Generate analytical reports and enter data into the LIMS system
- Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as needed
- Perform quality control practices per company Quality Assurance / Quality Control manual
- Administrative duties including sample login and data entry, scanning and emailing reports and answering phones
- Other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the manager
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or related science is requiredAuthorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship0 to 1 years' experience working in a lab setting with FLAA and / or ICP is a plus but not requiredAbility to distinguish colors in order to perform analysisAbility to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability and a positive attitudeEffective time management, organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task and prioritize with minimal assistanceAvailable Shift
Position is full time, Tuesday to Saturday 11 : 00 a.m. to 7 : 30 p.m. Training to start will be Monday to Friday 9 : 00 a.m. to 5 : 30 p.m.
