Responsibilities

This role typically :

  • Patrols The Ringling's 66 acres of buildings, galleries, and grounds as assigned.
  • Monitor visitor activity to ensure :

Safety of staff and visitors

  • Adherence to all policies / procedures
  • Protection of the collection, buildings, and grounds while guarding against theft, vandalism, and other damage
  • Briefly answers guest questions with a focus on customer service and creating a welcoming environment for our visitor population.
  • Conducts daily inspections of assigned areas and reports :

    • Safety issues

  • Damages or necessary repairs
  • Water intrusion or leaks

    • As needed this role :

  • Assists with emergency situations by communicating with the appropriate point of contact.
  • Escorting staff and guests as assigned.

    • This role must present a professional image in line with internal dress code.

    Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Ability to :

    • Stand and walk for long periods of time

  • Ascend / descend stairs
  • Ability to work in all types of weather conditions
  • Valid Driver's License or ability to obtain prior to hire

    • Driver's permits are not allowable

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous customer service experience.
  • Experience in a museum or non-profit organization.
  • Ability to :

    • Promote a welcoming work / education environment.

  • Respond in a calm manner to urgent / emergency situations.

    Anticipated Salary Range

    $15.45 (28 hours a week)

  • Eligible for $5 per hour pay additive for working special events.

    • Working Hours

  • Set biweekly schedule that is not flexible and applicants must be available for the schedule as listed below.

    • Week 1 : Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 9 : 30 AM to 5 : 00 PM

  • Week 2 : Friday, Monday, and Thursday from 9 : 30 AM to 5 : 00 PM

    • (8 PM clock out time on Thursdays with scheduled events)
