Billing Specialist
Location : Indianapolis, IN
Pay : $19–$21 / hour (based on experience)
Schedule : In office, Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm with some flexibility around core hours
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Billing Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for generating accurate invoices, resolving billing discrepancies, and ensuring timely processing of payments. This role requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication, and a commitment to maintaining financial accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and issue invoices to clients in a timely and accurate manner.
Review contracts, purchase orders, and service agreements to ensure proper billing.
Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments.
Resolve billing discrepancies and respond to client inquiries professionally.
Maintain organized billing records and documentation.
Collaborate with internal departments to ensure billing accuracy and resolve issues.
Assist with month-end closing and reporting related to billing activities.
Support audits and compliance reviews as needed.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in accounting or business preferred.
1+ years of experience in billing, accounts receivable, or related finance role.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and billing / accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, NetSuite).
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
