Job Title : Nurse Practitioner ( Occupational Health)
Location : 78th Medical Group, Occupational Medicine Services, Building 207, Robins Air Force Base, GA 31098
Work Schedule : Monday Friday, 0730 1630 (8.5 9-hour shift including 30 60-minute uncompensated lunch break)
Qualifications :
Education : Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited program recognized by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).; Graduate-level academic training must be in a nursing specialty relevant to the role of Nurse Practitioner in Occupational Health or Primary Care.
Experience :
Minimum of 2 years of full-time clinical experience within the last 3 years providing direct patient care as a Nurse Practitioner, preferably in an Occupational Health, Primary Care, or Family Practice setting.
Experience conducting medical assessments, developing treatment plans, and managing work-related health conditions.
Must demonstrate proficiency in MHS GENESIS or comparable electronic medical record systems.
Experience providing health risk assessments, medical readiness evaluations, and prevention-focused education to support Air Force occupational health programs.
License / Certification :
Current, full, active, and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license from any U.S. State, the District of Columbia, or U.S. Territory.
National Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner by ANCC / AANP / Or another national nursing certification body appropriate to the clinical specialty
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or American Red Cross.
Other Requirements : Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Responsibilities :
Conduct thorough occupational health assessments, including history taking, physical exams, diagnostic evaluations, and exposure screenings.
Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic occupational health conditions, ensuring compliance with Air Force medical standards.
Prescribe medications, order laboratory and diagnostic testing, and interpret results to guide patient care.
Provide emergency medical interventions when necessary and ensure proper referral to higher levels of care.
Ensure patient confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA, Joint Commission, and MTF privacy policies.
Evaluate medical fitness-for-duty and assist with return-to-work clearances.
Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams including primary care providers, occupational medicine staff, and leadership for safe and timely return-to-duty decisions.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in MHS GENESIS, adhering to all documentation standards.
Participate in the case management and medical surveillance process for Air Force personnel.
Educate patients, families, and supervisors on occupational health hazards, safety measures, and preventive health strategies.
Provide guidance on workplace ergonomics, exposure mitigation, and wellness promotion initiatives.
Lead or participate in preventive health campaigns and health risk communication sessions.
Participate in regular staff meetings, quality improvement programs, and clinical case reviews.
Deliver staff training and in-service education sessions related to occupational medicine practices and protocols.
Assist in maintaining compliance with The Joint Commission (TJC), AAAHC, and Air Force Medical Service (AFMS) standards.
Prepare required reports, summaries, and data collection in support of Occupational Medicine metrics and inspections.
