The Plumber performs building trades work in maintaining plumbing and heating, and hot water systems, as well as installs new plumbing and heating fixtures and related components as part of the services provided by the Facilities Management area to maintain University buildings. Services include, but are not limited to :

Work Interactions

This position reports directly to the Mechanical Shop Supervisor along with other plumbers, HVAC mechanics and trades helpers. The work of the incumbents provides a direct service to the department to ensure a comfortable, safe and clean environment in which the University community can live, learn and work.

Requirements and Qualifications

Technical Qualifications or Specialized Certifications

This position may require the incumbent to operate University commercial vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating of 10K+ (e.g., tow trucks, box trucks, trash trucks, buses, lifts, etc.). As such, the incumbent must possess a medical card and / or certificate issued by the Department of Transportation (DOT), which is issued by a licensed "medical examiner," after completion of a DOT physical examination as defined in GU Vehicle Policy1017 and DOT Regulations 391.11 (4) - Medical Card / Certificate and 390.5 (1) - Commercial Motor Vehicles (10K+) Definitions ( http : / / www.fmcsa.dot.gov ).
