Job Description

Review subdivision and zoning applications

Review building plans for conformance with City regulations

Meet with property owners, engineers, contractors, residents and other interested parties to discuss proposals and ideas

Develop long and short-range plans and projects

Assists with Code Enforcement and nuisance complaints

Inspect subdivisions and Site Plans for active developments and during the final review process

Utilize Community Development software (Citizenserve) for various applications serving the needs of the department and customers (on the job training by a current staff member can be accommodated)

Assists in writing amendments to the Zoning Ordinance and Subdivision Regulations

Assists in training new employees within the department

Draft Zoning Verification Letters and other requested correspondence documents requested by customers

Drafts and updates departmental checklists and applications

Forwards information to be added or changed on the City's Community Development Department Website

Attends Planning Commission, City Council and Board of Adjustment meetings as necessary and present related materials to the aforementioned Commission, Council and Board
