GBS is seeking a Senior IT Project Manager – to support a federal client. The work will be performed remotely with occasional on-site visits. The Senior IT Project Manager – oversees all aspects of Task Order performance for the client, ensuring that work is completed on schedule, within scope, and in compliance with federal clients quality and security standards. The Project Manager serves as the primary point of contact with the client and has full authority to act on behalf of the Contractor in daily operations.
Job Functions
- Manage all contract activities, deliverables, schedules, and staffing under the Task Order.
- Serve as the primary interface with the Contracting Officer (CO), Contracting Officer's Representative (COR), and Government Work Assignment Managers.
- Lead planning, execution, and monitoring of projects using Agile, SAFe, or traditional project-management methodologies.
- Coordinate day-to-day technical and administrative efforts among contractor staff to ensure effective task execution and communication.
- Develop, maintain, and track the project plan, milestone schedules, and deliverable timelines in accordance with PWS reporting requirements.
- Facilitate and document status meetings, gate reviews, and performance discussions with the Government.
- Monitor performance metrics, manage risks and issues, and implement corrective actions when required.
- Ensure that all work products meet DOI / IBC security, privacy, and configuration-management policies.
- Support phase-in and phase-out activities, ensuring continuity of operations and knowledge transfer.
- Provide regular Monthly Status Reports (MSRs), labor reports, and project updates as required by the COR.
Experience Requirements
Overseeing all aspects of government contract projects, from planning to execution.Managing project teams, ensuring alignment with project goals and contract deliverables.Monitoring budgets, schedules, and performance metrics to ensure efficient project execution.Communicating with government officials, contractors, and internal stakeholders on project progress.Ensuring full compliance with federal regulations, agency policies, and contract terms.Skills and Abilities
Strong leadership and team management skills.Expertise in project management methodologies.Proficiency in project management software.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.Knowledge of government contracting regulations (FAR, DFARS, etc.).Education / Certification Requirements
Bachelor's degree in business, Project Management, Public Administration, or a related field.5-10 years of experience managing government contracts or related projects.PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent preferred.Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.Must be able to obtain a position of public trust with the US Government.A background check will be required.
