American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for night shifts with floating and telemetry competencies, requiring an active MA RN license and critical care certifications.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Position is in a hospital-based 20-bed Medical / Surgical Intensive Care Unit within a Level III Trauma CenterNight shift schedule from 19 : 00 to 07 : 30 with every other weekend requiredFloating to Med / Surg units is required, with possible assignment of up to 4 or 5 patients when floatedNurse-to-patient ratios are 1 : 2 or 1 : 1 in the ICU, and 1 : 4 or 1 : 5 when floated to Med / SurgPatient population includes adults with diverse diagnoses such as substance abuse, psychiatric conditions, DKA, sepsis, GI bleeds, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shockICU staffed 24 / 7 with attendings and residents presentUses Epic EMR for all charting requirementsResponsibilities include managing critically ill adult patients with a variety of complex medical and surgical diagnosesMust be comfortable floating to medical-surgical units and adapting to varying patient loadsLocal candidates must reside at least 60 miles from Massachusetts General Hospital in BostonTime-off requests must be declared at the time of considerationScrub or dress code will be provided by the hospital upon assignmentFirst-time travelers are not specified; orientation provided as per hospital protocolParking is not validated at Boston area locations and may incur a daily cost; public transport options are available\n \n Requirements\n
Active Massachusetts RN license required at the time of consideration; MA conditional licenses not acceptedCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications from AHA are mandatoryMinimum of 3 years general ICU experience, with at least 2 years of continuous work in one location, preferably in a MICUMust demonstrate competency in reading telemetry stripsFlu and COVID vaccines are required with no exemptions permitted\n Benefits\n
