Overview
The Logistics Data & Systems Configuration Analyst is responsible for evaluating, developing, and maintaining accurate equipment / systems data used by engineering, industrial, and Navy disciplines. This data supports naval vessel maintenance, modernization, sustainment, and mission readiness. Daily work is conducted in the Navy Model Based Product Support (MBPS) cloud platform, the program of record for this role.
Responsibilities
- Interpret intent of incoming data change requests.
- Review drawings, technical manuals, change documentation, and other technical information to ensure configuration records are complete and accurate.
- Execute changes within MBPS in accordance with BIW & Navy procedures and policies.
- Develop planning data to support new equipment or system installation / removal.
- Maintain regular communication with the assigned Navy 3MC and promptly address logistics concerns.
- Analyze ship equipment / systems configuration and ensure the correct hierarchy is assigned.
- Participate in regularly scheduled internal / external training exercises.
- BIW provides extensive in-house MBPS training and mentorship.
- All candidates are expected to successfully complete MBPS training in support of the Navy's digital transformation initiative.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required; BIW Apprentice preferred.Current Secret Security Clearance with the US Government preferred; ability to obtain a government security clearance is required. Technician I – 0-1 years of experience; Technician II – 1-4 years of experience.Skills and capabilities
Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.Strong equipment / mechanical aptitude; working knowledge of shipboard equipment and systems preferred.Ability to work from a computer all day; proficient with computers; basic to advanced Microsoft Office experience as noted.Ability to prioritize multiple projects and analyze technical documentation for accuracy and completeness; working knowledge of Navy documentation and terms is highly preferred.Ability to read, understand, and interpret ship equipment / system drawings; strong understanding of Change Management principles; shipbuilding / shipboard experience is highly preferred.General Dynamics Bath Iron Works is a full-service shipyard specializing in the design, building, and support of complex surface combatants for the U.S. Navy.
