Overview
At Paychex, a UX Researcher I's primary responsibility is to conduct usability studies and generate transformational insights that influence UX design. In this role, you will cultivate partnerships with Product Owners and UX Designers, and provide ongoing feedback to user-driven design solutions that achieve project goals. You inspire insight-driven improvements at all stages of product development by collaborating with cross-functional teams and delivering oral, written, and visual presentations.
Responsibilities
- Partner with UX Designers and Product Managers to choose appropriate research method(s) in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment; collaborate with Product Managers to incorporate complex technical and business requirements into research plans
- Plan and implement usability studies, including developing a research plan, screening and recruiting participants, facilitating sessions, analyzing results, and communicating results and recommendations
- Implement additional UX Research activities as needed, including surveys, focus groups, ethnographic studies / contextual inquiries, interviews, and usage analytics
- Stay current with new research or testing methods; willing to innovate and try new methods
- Other duties as assigned to support the general purpose of the user experience function
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Cognitive Science, Computer Science, Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Experimental Psychology, Anthropology, Information Science - Required1 year of experience in applied research setting, or the equivalent combination of education and experience; expert in all aspects of Usability including usability testing, surveys, interviews, workshops, heuristic evaluations, contextual inquiry, personas, use-cases, site mapping, process flows, etc.Compensation
In the spirit of pay transparency, the starting base pay range for this position is $78,300 - $123,100. This range is the base pay only and does not include other components of the total rewards package. If hired at Paychex, overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and experience, which may result in total compensation outside of this range.
