Position Summary
The Water Conveyance Professional Engineer functions in an Operations role in the Water Department. The Professional Engineer position works under the direction of the Water Conveyance System Manager and fills critical roles in our organization related to the planning and coordination of changes in operation to successfully connect new infrastructure and maintain current assets. The Professional Engineer also manages the District's program of pipeline condition assessments and renewal of existing infrastructure, and reviews design plans for new infrastructure, among other tasks.

Moderate physical labor and considerable mental attention required with some eyestrain. Generally desirable conditions with some outside visits to work-sites with varying environmental conditions. Considerable time can be spent working with and viewing a computer screen. Considerable time viewing plans, specifications and reading reports and correspondence. Some time will be spent at construction sites, traversing rough terrain, climbing stairs and ladders to access structures. Equipment used includes calculators, computers and some field survey equipment.
