American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Critical Care Float position in a hospital ICU setting requiring at least 2 years of ICU experience and active WA or compact RN license.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work within a hospital Critical Care Float cluster including Surgical ICU, Cardiac ICU, Cardiothoracic ICU, Medical ICU, Bone Marrow Transplant / Oncology ICU, and one mutually agreed Med-Surg departmentPatient ratios range from 1 : 1 to 1 : 2 depending on unit and acuityAssignments require floating between critical care and agreed Med-Surg units within the hospitalMinimum 13-week contract with variable day and night 12-hour shiftsWeekend shifts are required as part of the scheduleOn-call duty is not requiredCharting is performed with Epic EMR (Epic experience preferred but not required)Scrubs can be any color except for OR personnel, who are provided scrubsResponsibilities include providing care to complex critical care and ICU patients across multiple specialized unitsMagnet and Teaching hospital with Level 1 trauma experience preferredOrientation sessions are held twice per month, and pre-start online modules (5-6 hours) are requiredRTO is restricted to a maximum of one week and not allowed during orientationLocal candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelersNo radius requirement applies to this positionAll required onboarding modules must be completed before startingHospital provides parking at a daily rate\n \n Requirements\n
Active WA or compact RN license required at the time of applicationMinimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience requiredBLS and ACLS certifications requiredCompletion of two travel assignments beyond initial hospital required (first-time travelers not accepted)COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptionsMust be able to work at least two out of three major holidays during the contractMust provide two supervisory / charge references if possible (one is acceptable in certain cases)Prior staff must have separated from the facility for at least 18 months before returning as a traveler\n Benefits\n
