Legal Assistant (Post Adjudication Case Manager)

Location : Southfield, MI (Relocating to Troy, MI in January)

Employment Type : Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 40 hours / week

Compensation : $20–$23 / hour, based on experience

About the Role

Nyman Turkish PC, a rapidly growing Disability and Litigation law firm, is seeking a Post Adjudication Case Manager to join our Social Security Disability team. This position focuses on managing the client disengagement and case closure process after a decision has been made on a claim.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect attorney fees from the Social Security Administration
• Process client cost reimbursements and credit card payments
• Prepare and file fee petitions as needed
• Make frequent outbound calls to SSA and payment centers
• Calculate award amounts and file appeals when necessary
• Communicate with clients regarding case status and payments
• Send disengagement letters and other correspondence
• Use legal case management software
• Perform administrative assistant duties as needed
• Maintain strong attention to detail and organization in a fast-paced environment
