PRODUCTION COORDINATOR
Division : ESCO Automation
Location : Altoona, Iowa; On-site
Reports to : Operation Manager
Exempt or Non-Exempt : Exempt
Status : Full-Time
Typical Working Hours : 7 : 30am to 4 : 30pm
May be required to work extended hours including holidays and weekends due to the 24 hours, 7 days a week, 365 days a year type of service ESCO provides its clients.
Synopsis :
The Production Coordinator is a professional position within the ESCO Group. This position is best described as a coordinator for both electrical and mechanical assembly teams supporting the automation business unit. This is a hands-on position who schedules resources, manages production schedules and project materials. This position requires a great deal of organizational focus on job delivery teams along with material handling and logistics.
Background and Work Experience :
To be considered, candidates should have :
- Completion of either a Bachelors or an Associates degree program in a related discipline from an accredited college, technical school, or university, or industry experience.
- Other equivalent education and experience combinations will be considered with solid evidence of success.
- Demonstrated to be highly proficient with computer technologies including but not limited to, Windows Operating Systems, and the use of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Preferred :
Experience in project engineering or project services environment, including the following :Knowledge and familiarity with project management activities including scheduling, material expediting, shipping / receiving and inventory activities.Familiarity with Bills of Materials, electrical assembly drawings and various manufacturing processes.Proficient with operating forklifts, pallet jacks, other warehouse equipment.Responsibilities and Duties :
The Production Coordinator will be responsible for, but not limited to :
Be the point person for all shop related questions.Responsible for shop daily work activities Who / What / WhenCreate weekly shop project progress updates.Participate in Project Kickoff / Closeout meetings -or assign as needed.Collaborate to provide forecast of : resource needs (amount and timing), skills, equipment, tools, etMaterial - Own receiving / shipping, storage / project kitting processesReceive materialManage shop inventoryManage ReturnsPut away materialSupport internal and external clients with regular communication to keep them informed of any project issues, material deviations.Responsible for the manufacturing master schedule, shop utilization and production priorities.Responsible for receiving and stock of raw material.Coordinate shipping and tracking of finished goods.Create & utilizes assembly quality procedures.Participate in shop safety policies and enforcement.Utilize, support, and enhance ESCOs standards and best practices.Understand and follow all safety, conduct, and policy requirements established by ESCO and clients.Other duties and responsibilities as assigned or deemed necessary by managementInterpersonal Skills / Characteristics :
