American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Omaha, Nebraska.

Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg unit with day shifts, EPIC EMR usage, and a Nebraska or compact license requirement.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in a hospital Med / Surg unit caring for general medical and post-operative recovery patients
  • Patient ratio is 1 : 5 on the unit
  • Oncology Med / Surg overflow patient types may be encountered
  • Float within scope as needed
  • Nasally delivered oxygen administered via nasal cannula as needed
  • Uses EPIC charting system
  • 12-hour day shifts
  • Responsible for providing nursing care for Med / Surg and post-operative recovery patients, including occasional oncology overflow
  • Must pass an open book skills exam with 90% or higher during orientation
  • Artificial nails are prohibited in patient care areas
  • First time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Required to float within scope as directed
  • Two professional references required : one supervisor from the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the last 3 years with employment dates and rehire eligibility noted

  • Active NE or compact RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted
  • Minimum of 2 years RN experience required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • At least 1 year of Med / Surg experience required
  • Must provide a driver's license to verify permanent residence is at least 50 miles from the facility
  • Candidates may not have been employed (full time, part time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility in the past year
