Capex Analyst
The Capex Analyst is responsible for developing capital plans, analyzing financial results, and developing financial models. This position works across the Finance team, as well as with various business partners, to develop the company's capital plan and forecast.
Responsibilities :
- Create the capital portfolio budget based on project level spend estimated provided by business partners
- Partner with Facilities and Real Estate teams to develop annual operating expense budgets
- Partner with Facilities to develop weekly reporting of project level capital spend vs. budget and forecast
- Proactively manage capital risks and opportunities via the forecast process
- Generate and present monthly overviews of operating expense results to the Leadership team
- Develop / maintain complex financial models as part of the company's forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning processes (weekly flashes, monthly reporting, annual planning / budgeting)
- Determine the best approach to analyzing and synthesizing data and work independently to solve complex problems
- Assesses the financial and economic performance of various businesses through detailed understanding of expense drivers and cash analysis while identifying ways to decrease costs
- Helps to improve current finance processes through simplification and / or automation
- Assists with implementation of new tools and systems
- Assists in the production of analysis and recommendations for senior management with respect to strategic business decisions
- Other responsibilities may be assigned or modified at any time dependent on business needs
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Demonstrated business acumen related to corporate and commercial finance and strategyPrior manufacturing industry experience preferredAdvanced financial modeling and analysis skills requiredSolid knowledge of financial statements, corporate finance and accounting principles requiredExpert proficiency in the use of business applications, particularly Excel and PowerPointExperience with financial reporting and general ledger applications toolsHighly motivated with demonstrated experience managing multiple projects in a fast paced, deadline-oriented work environmentSelf-starter who will anticipate challenges and work proactively to resolve issuesComfortable working within an entrepreneurial, "roll-up your sleeves" environmentStrong written and verbal communication skillsTeam player with a customer service mentalityEducation and Experience :
Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, or related field required.Minimum of 5 years' experience.Working Conditions :
Office Environment - Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time and occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as : preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading. May be required to exert up to 25 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
