ABOUT THE POSITION

VHB's Atlanta, GA office is hiring a Transportation Planning Intern to join the Transportation Systems team for Summer 2026.

Candidates should have an interest in transportation planning and / or traffic engineering and desire to support a wide range of planning studies that include multimodal planning, community planning, bicycle and pedestrian planning, transit planning, corridors analysis, and coordination of public involvement and agency outreach efforts.

Responsibilities

Conduct planning assessments using analytical tools such as GIS to evaluate data, identify trends, and develop documentation to summarize results

• Assistance with development of support materials for public involvement programs and attendance of public meetings as needed
• Support of project-related documentation for a range of transportation planning studies, traffic operations projects, grant initiatives, and multi-modal / transit-oriented projects.
• Performance of field data collection and other on-site project support activities
