Kraemer Brothers is seeking a skilled Project Manager / Estimator to join our team. This role is responsible for preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates, coordinating subcontractor and supplier involvement, and managing assigned construction projects to ensure quality, schedule, and budget goals are met. The Project Manager / Estimator will serve as the primary liaison between Kraemer Brothers, project owners, architects, and subcontractors—ensuring successful communication and project execution from start to finish.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare budgets, estimates, and final costs for self-performed and subcontracted work.
- Manage subcontractor procurement, bidding, and contracts.
- Oversee project administration including permit procurement, documentation, and compliance.
- Lead coordination with field operations staff, subcontractors, and owners.
- Administer change orders, construction bulletins, and supplemental instructions.
- Represent the company professionally to all external stakeholders.
- Lead Owner / Architect / Contractor (OAC) meetings.
- Monitor project progress, address issues proactively, and ensure successful completion.
- Manage project closeout, including final change orders.
- Review plans and specifications for risks and pitfalls.
- Budget GMP and final estimating (including self-performed work).
- Set up bid packages and subcontractor solicitation.
- Draft owner proposals with detailed cost breakdowns, inclusions, and exclusions.
- Review subcontractor proposals, negotiate, and write subcontracts.
- Create material lists, buy out materials, and issue POs.
- Lead bid days to close out job costs.
- Establish agendas for project startup and OAC meetings.
- Assist superintendent in leading bi-weekly project progress meetings.
- Review and process shop drawings and maintain accurate submittal log.
- Manage contingency / change order logs
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Strong knowledge of construction administration and estimating practices.Ability to manage multiple priorities under time pressure.Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.Clear and professional written / oral communication.Proficiency in relevant software for estimating and project management.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field; or equivalent combination of education / experience.5+ years of relevant project management experience in construction.TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
Updates on construction software and building products / techniques.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
None direct, but may coordinate work with assistant project managers and field staff.Job Type : Full-time
