Controls Engineer - PLC / SCADA

Overview of the Role
We are seeking a Controls Engineer II to join our team to support the development, implementation, and maintenance of control systems for our PV (Photovoltaic) and BESS (Battery Energy Storage System) projects. The ideal candidate will have experience with PLC programming, SCADA systems, and HMI development.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement PLC-based control systems for renewable energy projects
- Design, develop, and implement PLC-based control systems for renewable
energy projects
Program PLCs using various methods including function blocks, structured text, and ladder logicConfigure and maintain SCADA systems for monitoring and controlling PV and BESS installationsDevelop and test HMI interfaces using Ignition platformDevelop control narratives, O&M manuals, and Functional RequirementDocuments (FRDs) for projectsConduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) for all projectsTroubleshoot control system issues and implement appropriate solutionsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project deliveryDocument control system designs, configurations, and modificationsSupport commissioning and startup activities for new and modified systemsRequired Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or relatedtechnical field
1-3 years of experience with PLC programming and industrial control systemsProficiency in programming using function blocks, structured text, and ladderlogic
Experience with industrial communication protocols (Modbus, DNP3, OPC,etc.)Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work in a collaborative team environmentPreferred Qualifications
Experience with Schneider M340 or M580 PLCsExperience with Ignition HMI platformKnowledge of renewable energy systems, particularly solar PV and battery storageUnderstanding of electrical power systems and instrumentationExperience with project lifecycle from design through commissioningFamiliarity with industry standards and best practices for control systemsPhysical Requirements
