Summary
Our Assistant Teachers plays a vital role in supporting the Lead Teachers and other staff in cultivating a safe, nurturing, and spiritually enriching environment for children. This position involves assisting with classroom activities, maintaining a clean and organized space, engaging with children and families, and modeling Christian values. The Assistant Teacher helps guide children in their spiritual, physical , social-emotional, and academic development while upholding the mission of St. Paul’s Lutheran Child Care.
Duties
Greet families and assist with drop-off / pick-up and events
Support Lead Teachers with classroom planning, routines, and child development
Assist children with daily needs including diapering / toileting, emotional regulation, and learning activities
Maintain clean, organized, and age-appropriate classroom and playground environments
Ensure facility safety and report maintenance concerns
Monitor equipment and supplies levels, follow sanitation procedures and report materials that are low
Decorate classrooms and bulletin boards seasonally
Attend monthly staff meetings
Model Christian values and serve as a spiritual role model
Requirements
Nice To Haves
Preference to Wisconsin Registry members
Prior experience in Child Care Center, Preschool setting
College courses in early childhood, teaching, psychology
Experience with ProCare
Wisconsin Models Early Learning Standard
Pyramid Model 8 part- series
Working knowledge and understanding of YoungStar program
