Position Overview
The Accountant Analyst I handles budgeting, billing, accounting, analysis, and financial reporting for assigned programs. This individual will work directly with the appropriate program heads to prepare internal budgets for each program cost center. S / he is responsible for timely preparation and submission of required billing and / or financial reports for the appropriate funding entity. S / he will ensure that revenue and expenses for these programs are promptly and accurately recorded including all necessary adjusting journal entries, to ensure that financial results are correctly represented. This person will provide monthly budget versus actual comparison analysis reports for their assigned programs. S / he will meet regularly with program staff to discuss financial results and provide meaningful information for fiscal decision-making, planning, and to ensure compliance with VDM and funder protocols. S / he is also responsible for monitoring and managing program receivables and other pertinent balance sheet accounts.
