Milpitas, CA 95035

Pay Rate : $27.00 per hour

Shift : 1st Shift — 6 : 00 AM–2 : 30 PM or 7 : 00 AM–3 : 30 PM

Interview Type : In-person

Position Overview

The Instrument Test Technician I performs production assembly operations, complete system analysis, testing, and performance optimization of complex instruments. This role involves basic electrical, mechanical, and software troubleshooting to ensure high-quality product performance and compliance with standards for safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, integrate, and understand complete assembly processes and requirements for instruments in production.
  • Perform functional and release testing on moderately complex instruments.
  • Analyze test results to determine pass / fail outcomes and develop corrective solutions.
  • Optimize system performance, including mechanical movement and light systems.
  • Identify defects and recommend design or process improvements.
  • Train associates in mechanical and testing activities as needed.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Purchasing teams.
  • Maintain compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), safety policies, and BD quality standards.
  • Perform material handling functions for raw materials and sub-assemblies.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement (Lean Manufacturing) initiatives, Kaizen events, and safety programs.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

Education / Experience :

  • Associate’s degree (AS) in Mechatronics or a relevant field — required .
  • OR 5 years of experience in electrical, mechanical, or software troubleshooting.

    • Skills and Competencies :

  • Strong understanding of mechanical tools, torque drivers, gauges, and measurement techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and test instructions.
  • Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in English (reading, writing, analyzing charts, diagrams).
  • Basic proficiency with PCs and Windows-based applications.
  • Excellent analytical, math, and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask, adapt to changing assignments, and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement practices.

  • Shift : 6 : 00 AM–2 : 30 PM or 7 : 00 AM–3 : 30 PM
  • Pay Rate : $27.00 / hour
  • Type : Contract-to-Hire (potential for permanent employment)
